I was thinking back the other day to the times in which I was at school and we would simply run in and hit the nearest instruments in sight. In fact I remember them simply handing out things like tambourines one lesson and we literally spent the whole hour doing nothing but smashing these about. Now I remember being in the highest class for music and this is what we did, goodness knows what the others got up too.
The thing is that once you get to high school there is not much that can change because no one has learn to play the real instruments! A lot of teachers and governors feel that letting kids simply bag on instruments is great and they really enjoy it. People forget that to be able to play one of those electric guitars or even acoustic guitars you are best learning at a very young age indeed.
Unless you have money it is actually very hard to be able to do this and this is why governments need to put more spending in music classes and get proper instruments in place rather than the very boring tambourine and triangle. On top of this does anyone remember getting excited over the pointless instrument that is the rainmaker, wow when you look back now it sucks!
I am almost 20 now and I really wish I could take back time and learn how to play guitars or an instrument that doesn’t make you look like an idiot when you are using it like the recorder. I do not understand why schools actually bother teaching such a pointless instrument to many students!
Music is a fantastic way for children and adults a like to express themselves to get more budget in there!?
The government needs to sort this out so children can learn to play really decent instruments.
